In a kusi.com report the U.S. Money Reserve has teamed up with the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation in order to erect a Lone Sailor Statue to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack.
The Lone Sailor is meant to represent the values of honor, respect, and devotion to duty, values that have long been central to those in our maritime services. It is also meant to honor the men, women, and families of the sea services.
To fund the building of the statue, the U.S. Money Reserve will be using proceeds from the sales of its gold and silver 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor coins. These exclusive coins honor and respect the tragedy of Pearl Harbor and the proceeds from its sales committed to the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation will be used to fund The Lone Sailor.
The Lone Sailor will stand seven foot tall and will be constructed from bronze. Weighing approximately 1000 pounds, the statue will also incorporate steel from the USS Arizona into the base of the statue. The USS Arizona was destroyed and sank in the Pearl Harbor Attack in 1941 and now serves as a both a memorial and an active military cemetery where survivors of the attack may choose to have either their ashes scattered over the water or an urn placed within the wreckage of the ship.
